Ceremony
A documentation of the ceremonial troops of the British Army through the eyes of a fashion photographer.
In 2006, acclaimed fashion photographer Alasdair McLellan spent a month capturing ceremonial soldiers of the British Army for a magazine assignment, and published the expanded series in this photobook in 2016. Verging on portraiture and documentation, McLellan’s images capture the detail and significance of their uniforms as well as the soldiers who wear them, accompanying them to their private and off-duty spaces as they prepare their horses. The series is an open testament to the appeal McLellan sees in traditional uniforms and the values they embody, as well as the centuries of history that influenced their colours and designs. Includes dust jacket cover poster.
